Hovione was originally a fine chemicals company that excelled in manufacturing the active pharmaceutical ingredients used in drugs. Qualitative research among US biotech start-ups and generic drug companies was used to develop a prioritised segmentation of customers and to identify a more differentiated positioning.
The resulting strategy repositioned Hovione as an active pharmaceutical ingredient specialist instead of it being simply another fine chemicals company. We created selling messages and a range of integrated communication solutions including a new identity, web site, sales brochures, trade show stand design and print advertising.
Since Fusion began working with Hovione in 1999, the Company has increased revenues from USD 45 million to USD 200 million and achieved brand leadership in its category.
